What motivated the French to colonize Guiana?
The French, Spanish, British, and many other huge powers were the great countries at that time known for colonization. French Guiana is just only one of the Guianas which was once one country but got separated by the colonizing powers. So, now the question is why did the French colonize the Guianas? The answer for it is that France was so high in population that they had to move some people to a new colony. Also, by setting up a new colony, the French would expect new income source. And lastly, since other colonizing powers were trying to colonize the new land, the French were interested and colonized the land. It is still France’s land and will never get independence.
